About Kinran Brocade
Kinran is a refined brocade introduced to Japan during the Tensho era (1573–1592). Woven with gold threads, it was once a privilege enjoyed only by samurai, tea masters, and aristocrats. Today, it remains a beloved textile art, with Kyoto Nishijin-ori standing as its finest representation.
A Symbol of Endless Good Fortune
This pouch features the traditional Shippō (七寶) motif — a pattern of interlocking circles symbolizing endless prosperity, happiness, and harmonious connections. The design’s rich hues and shimmering gold threads radiate a subtle, timeless charm.
More Than a Pouch
Perfectly sized to hold two seals, four small wooden stamps, or essentials like lipstick and keepsakes. Ideal as a thoughtful wedding gift, symbolizing the harmony of a new couple’s life together. A beautiful, practical item that brings a little piece of Kyoto’s elegance into daily living.
Note: Each pouch is one-of-a-kind, with unique fabric placement that ensures no two are alike.
